Cullet is the industry term for recycled glass that has been crushed and thoroughly purified. It is free from metals, paper labels, and organic residues. Reprocessors mix cullet with sand, soda ash, and limestone to manufacture new glass containers. Melting cullet requires significantly less energy and produces far fewer carbon emissions than processing raw materials, making it a highly valuable resource.
