Frequently Asked Questions

General Booking & Processes

Does the company offer flexible collection schedules?
We offer collection time slots which allow us to best plan for efficiency and the reduction of travel time (and resulting emissions etc) every day. For bulky waste collection (non bin and sack collection services) these time slots are 9am to 5pm (if clients are open all day with no specific requirement) or 7am to 1pm and 12pm to 6pm. Our Collection Team will call you 30 min before collection to let you know they are on their way, and more specific ETAs can be given on the day of collection.
We offer a guaranteed next day service (Mon – Fri) within London and can often arrange a same day collection. Outside of London we usually have 48-hour availability.
Clients who wish to have multiple collections are encouraged to open credit accounts with us so that we can invoice them on 30 days payment terms. Clients who have one-off or irregular collection requirements can pay by card, excluding AMEX.
Clients who sign up for scheduled bin collection services are offered discounts across the full range of services we offer.
We are registered with the Environment Agency which confirms our compliance with environmental standards.
Yes, we provide waste material breakdown reports on request.
We aim to provide the best possible outcome for all our clients’ waste, whether it is requested or not. Where there is special appetite for processing which may incur additional costs in order to reach excellent standards of recycling for difficult to dispose of items, we will work tirelessly to design a solution to meet these needs.

Waste Audit

Waste Audit service will help you better understand your organization’s waste management, and ensure that it’s fulfilling the legal requirements.

Electronic Waste

Anything at all with a plug or battery.

White goods such as fridges, freezers, washing machines and dryers.

Kitchen appliances such as microwaves, toasters, blenders etc.

Televisions, monitors, computers, tablets, mobile phones, handheld devices, toys, etc.

Heaters, coolers, lighting equipment and sound equipment.

We partner with many companies who resell or refurbish electronic goods and appliances. If the appliance contains sensitive data, such as PCs, laptops, IT networking equipment, mobile phones etc, these will be securely wiped to scrub all data from their memory before going on to the second hand market. Even items which don’t work or may be partially broken may have some value as parts for repairs and refurbishment. For goods with no resale or parts value, items are broken down and the different materials within them go for a recycling treatment suitable for that type of material. Where items contain data, the item may be shredded instead of dismantled, and then sorted by material type for recycling.
We collect all electronic goods, however we will ask if goods are working or not prior to collection so we best prepare for collection and transportation of working devices.
Whenever possible if anything is still fit for purpose, we will do all we can to put it back to good use through refurbishment and donation or back in the marketplace. If this is not possible it is broken down to it’s component parts for material recovery allowing the components to be segregated and put back into the manufacturing cycle. POPS containing waste will be sent for incineration that produces renewable energy.

Hazardous Waste

Hazardous waste has a threat to public or environmental wellbeing and needs to be disposed of properly to avoid harm, as well as potential fines for businesses.
Recycling of hazardous waste involves collection of the waste for reuse or for converting it into a new product that is no longer hazardous. Some types of hazardous wastes that cannot be recycled are incinerated, which produces energy. Other types go through a treatment process to ensure safe disposal in landfill. We always aim for the best possible outcome for the environment.
The client will be asked to group waste by type and give a count of the quantity of goods to be collected. This helps us quote you for your collection accurately, and also with the safe collection and handling of these items. If anything is leaking or needs a specialized transportation container this can be addressed prior to collection. Once they are back at our facility the weights/quantities will be double checked, and then the goods stored for later processing by our recycling partners.
Sharps containers will be provided prior to collection (if you don’t already have them) and then specialists will collect these for safe transport and disposal.
Yes, we operate in accordance with Environment Agency requirements for all aspects of our business operation. We are licensed waste carriers and brokers.
These costs vary according to the substance and the ease of recycling. Contact us for specific information on your hazardous waste.

Office And Furniture Clearances

We work with clients prior to carrying our office clearances to understand everything to be removed, and identify anything with a reuse potential which can be diverted from waste processing. We partner with companies who resell or donate many different types of goods. Items for reuse are kept separate to goods for recycling to prevent contamination or damage to reusable items during clearance and transportation. These items are either stored in our warehouse until they are ready to be collected for reuse.
POPs are Persistent Organic Pollutants. They are in flame retardants in furniture and furnishing, and the POP dust can cause irreversible damage to human health when inhaled. The Environment Agency has issued new guidance on the way in which upholstered furniture can be stored, treated, and disposed of has now changed. Accordingly, sofas, sofa beds, armchairs, kitchen and dining room chairs, stools and foot stools, home office chairs, futons, bean bags and floor and sofa cushions must be treated as persistent organic pollutants (POPs). PLEASE NOTE – there is no danger to you, your employees or visitors to your site from these items as the danger lies within the waste breakdown and disposal process.
Yes, we work with all clients to understand their particular needs. Waste prevention is considered first, and then processes and procedures are put in place to suit each client’s specific needs.
All goods not sent for reuse are transported back to our facility where they are separated by waste type, and sent on for recycling. A full breakdown of waste materials and their processing outcomes is available on request.
Whenever possible if anything is still fit for purpose, we will do all we can to put it back to good use through refurbishment and donation or back in the marketplace. Secure Destruction

We can provide various secure containers or sacks for any secure destruction requirements. We can provide confidential destruction services for paper, goods, clothing, and electronic devices.

Documents can be destroyed onsite if required, and these secure containers will be collected from the client site and taken to waiting mobile shredders parked outside for immediate shredding.

Where onsite shredding is not possible or desired, items will be transported in secure containers or locked vehicles as applicable, and taken for processing.

Items are tracked throughout the collection, transport and destruction process to ensure the safety and security of the process.
