Office Clearance Case Study: London EC2N

💰 How much does an office clearance cost?
I am continuing my series of articles to try to illustrate the variability of costs for office clearances, and why our free quoting service is essential for you getting the best price and outcome for your office clearance.

Below we look at a quote for a clearance on the 22nd Floor of an office building in Central London.

🗺 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: London Wall, EC2N
Travel time and distance from parking to the clearance site impacts the cost of the collection. In this case the collection was in Central London so very close to our base, and the building had a large loading bay we could use for the duration of the clearance. This is best-case scenario.

🏢 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 of clearance:
The office building is home to many companies across many floors. This means a large volume of people travelling around the building at any time which can add delays with moving waste. Through good design the building had two service lifts specifically for moving items rather than people, thus avoiding long delays waiting for empty lifts to be able to transport waste down through the building.

The collection was for 3 full days of works, with 5 Collection Team Members working to first disassemble furniture, and then move the furniture down to the loading bay ready for collection.

There were over 430 desks, 300 chairs, 180 cupboards, 130 pedestals, 60 meeting room tables, 250 meeting room chairs, 10 fridges and 7 dishwashers.
Some items for removal needed to be broken up so they would fit into the lifts, and general mixed waste would be transported by 240 litre bin or cages.
As per all of our collection, all reporting is included within the cost.

😎 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 news story:
We completely avoided POP charges for this collection as we were able to pass on all chairs and sofas for reuse.  Almost all of the furniture was in excellent condition meaning that we could find new homes for almost everything.

Persistent Organic Pollutant (POP) charges are now needed as the Environment Agency has imposed strict regulations on how items that contain POPs are treated (recycled). These POPs are hazardous chemicals used within the manufacturing process, which can get airborne during recycling and be inhaled.

Cost:
£6,850 + VAT
