Who should pay for PCNs?

A New York minute is the time between traffic lights🚦turning green and you getting honked to drive on. Surely the equivalent in London is the time between when you park your vehicle and a traffic warden turns up! 👮‍♀‍

TfL reports there are over 800 traffic cameras in London. Getting caught out will cost you on average £70. 💷

With every collection we do, we ask our clients where we can stop – is there a loading bay or off-street parking for their location? We plan ahead, check the site out on Google Maps, ask for information, all so we can avoid charges wherever possible.

If we have no choice but to incur a PCN or parking charges to access a client’s site, this cost will be passed on to the client. Is this fair? 🤔

We think so. We offer a range of services starting from single item collections which cost just £40 + VAT. We can keep prices down as we are able to share cost-savings resulting from having lots of clients located close together.

If we were to factor in PCN costs to all services, then disposing of small loads of waste may become a cost-led exercise and not a result-led exercise. We don’t want cost to be a barrier to responsible waste disposal.

We also don’t want over 99% of our collections to include a cost element related to PCNs, when in reality less than 0.5% of collections result in PCNs.

We want to do the best job we can, at the best price we can. 😎
